Roseville-based real estate consultant John Schleimer has launched a weekly program on housing trends and topics in the United States for VoiceAmerica Talk Radio Network, the largest producer of original Internet talk radio programming.
Schleimer is founder and president of Market Perspectives. He has been conducting market and consumer research, product positioning and feasibility studies for more than 25 years for land developer, home builder and investor/lender clients throughout the United States and Canada.
“Needless to say, I am quite honored that VoiceAmerica has selected me to create and host this housing program,” said Schleimer. “We are going to develop it in a consumer-oriented format and try and tell America what really is happening in the housing market and what the future holds for this key segment of our economy and society.”
Schleimer plans on inviting both national and regional experts and leaders in the housing industry as guests on his program to discuss pressing topics.
“Housing in America” will begin airing on Mondays starting Sept. 21 at 2 p.m.

Barnhart's Anton Greenville and Chris Haga have both successfully completed the requirements for the nationally recognized Designated Design-Build Professional certification.
The Design-Build Institute of America awarded designated status to Greenville and Haga after they passed a formal examination that was administered in May.
Greenville started his career with Barnhart, Inc. as a framing foreman and has advanced to his present position as executive vice president over the course of 20 years. He has managed hundreds of programs and projects with values in excess of $150 million.
Haga has 23 years of architecture and construction industry experience. In his current role as senior vice president, he oversees all projects originating out of the regional office located in Ventura County. His most recent project is managing the $105 million design-build expansion and renovation of the J. Paul Leonard Library and the Sutro Library at San Francisco State University.
DBIA’s certification program seeks to recognize industry professionals who demonstrate a practical level of knowledge and hands-on experience in design-build project delivery. Through the examination, DBIA establishes a uniform measure of proficiency that practitioners, owners and clients can use in selecting qualified design-build professionals.

Mark Lerdal has joined MP2 Capital as chief executive officer, while Charlie Glavin has come aboard as managing director.
MP2 Captial is a renewable energy firm that develops, finances and invests in projects worldwide. It recently relocated its headquarters to San Francisco.
Lerdal has more than 20 years of experience in the renewable energy sector as a developer, investor, executive and attorney. Prior to joining MP2 Capital, Lerdal was a partner at KKR Financial in San Francisco and Hong Kong.
Lerdal formerly served as president of KC Holdings, Inc., a developer of renewable energy projects. He also served as president and CEO of Kenetech Corporation, a San Francisco-based company specializing in the financing and management of independent electric power projects. He began his career as an attorney at the law firm of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison.
Glavin has been involved in the investment and technology industries for more than 22 years as an investor, executive and award-winning equity research analyst.
Glavin was most recently an executive-in-residence for the venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates and also chief strategy officer for Shanghai-based Spreadtrum Communications, Inc. Previously, Glavin worked as the senior global semiconductor analyst for Credit Suisse, Needham and ThinkEquity. He began his career as a fixed-income trader and analyst for Fidelity Investments and a senior product marketing engineer at Intel.

Valencia-based civil engineering firm Hunsaker & Associates-LA announced that principals Jeannine Giem and Jason Fukumitsu obtained Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED-AP) accreditations.
LEED-AP credentials indicate professional excellence and practical understanding of the LEED rating systems. The rating system encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria.
“With LEED accreditation, our clients can rest assured that our firm has the knowledge and experience to plan and build sustainable communities, whether commercial or residential,” said Giem. “In addition, the accreditation is highly regarded by our peers in the civil engineering community, and points to Hunsaker’s reputation for staying ahead of the curve.”
In addition to becoming LEED accredited, Giem has also acquired certification by the American Institute of Certified Planners. AICP certified planners are required to meet rigorous standards, as well as maintain their planning expertise through continuing education.
The company also has announced the addition of Oscar Aguilar as planning project manager. Aguilar has more than 14 years of land development design and master planning experience throughout Southern California, Aguilar will provide land use planning, hillside grading design, and planning and entitlement services to the firm’s clients.
Aguilar received his bachelor's degree in City Regional Planning from California Polytechnic State University. He previously held project management positions at engineering firms Psomas and Stantec.
Meanwhile, Gafcon Inc. has announced that William Morrison, a senior project manager in the company’s San Diego office, has earned his LEED Professional Accreditation.
Morrison, a 10-year construction industry veteran, joined Gafcon in 2007 after serving as development manager for BJs Brewhouse & Restaurant.
A licensed landscape architect, Morrison holds a master of landscape architecture degree from Louisiana State University and a master of real estate development degree from the University of Southern California. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in public administration and urban and regional planning from USC.
Gafcon is a California-based construction management and consulting firm.

Jeff Powers has been promoted by The Moote Group from project manager to director of dry utilities for the Utility Resource Network/Applicant Design Specialists organizations.
Powers’ new responsibilities include managing daily business activities including marketing, proposals and financials, as well as overseeing URN/ADS teams and managing and coordinating dry utilities for multiple municipalities as well as commercial and residential developers.
During his 32-year telecommunications career, Powers has worked for various companies located in Los Angeles, Orange County and Virginia.
