Builders Expanding Into Retrofit Market Need BPI Training
Many members are exploring the existing housing energy efficient retrofit opportunities thanks to federal stimulus funds and the proposed $6 billion Home Star legislation.
Government and utility sponsored retrofit and remodel programs that promote energy efficiency require participants to have Bulding Performance Institute certification or equivalent. BPI is a national standards development and credentialing organization of residential energy efficiency retrofit work.
Stockton energy consultants ConSol is a BPI affiliate providing BPI training and certification offering classes in June and July.
ConSol's training course is aligned with the BPI standards for energy auditing and provides instruction for energy efficiency analysis using the house-as-a-system approach. The BPI course provides professionals with knowledge necessary to take the certification exam and become a BPI certified professional.
