Membership Benefits

When you join your local association, you automatically become a member of the California Building Industry Association and the National Association of Home Builders — a 3-in-1 membership. Your local, state and national memberships provide you many valuable benefits and services, including:

Advocacy

We give you a stronger voice by representing your interests at the local, state and national levels of government. Our lobbyists work year-round in Washington, D.C., Sacramento and your community to promote the homebuilding industry, and to protect your livelihood.

Because we are officially a nonpartisan association that supports housing-friendly candidates on both sides of the aisle, we are well positioned to work with the U.S. Congress and California Legislature to advance critical housing issues.

Public Relations

CBIA educates policy makers and the public about the causes of, and solutions to, the state’s chronic affordability crisis. Our multi-market paid advertising campaign directs prospective buyers to a new Web site — www.cahomeownership.org — for objective information about the homebuying process and how to take advantage of today’s buyer's market.

We have a strong economics and market analysis capability that constantly gains media coverage. Our media outreach presents a more balanced and accurate picture of current and projected conditions in the housing market.

Regulatory Assistance / Legal Action

We work with the administration and legislature in the development of regulations, codes and standards that make common sense and make housing affordable. Our California Green Builder program is the effective and cost-effective green building program for builders and California homebuyers. Our strong legal action program, with funds available at the local, state and national levels, works to protect builders from unreasonable barriers and constraints to construction.

Industry News

Our members-only local, state and national publications will keep you up to date on industry news, trends and business practices.
California Builder, CBIA’s bimonthly magazine, has exclusive coverage of public policy issues that affect the business of homebuilding, combined with news about the latest innovations and trends in products and design.
• CBIA Daily News Summary provides an overview of housing news in the media.
• Monday Morning Report gives a weekly legislative and regulatory update.
• CBIA Reports provides a monthly synopsis of CBIA news and activities on behalf of members.
