The California Building Industry Association welcomes former Senator David E. Cogdill as its new CEO and President. The CBIA Executive Committee selected Cogdill after a 6-month search to replace current CEO and President Mike Winn. While serving as Chairman of the association in 2010, Winn assumed the day-to-day management of CBIA and will return to his Sacramento land development company in November.
Yesterday Governor Jerry Brown vetoed AB 1229, a measure that authorized inclusionary housing statewide after months of intense lobbying by the CBIA Government Affairs team. The bill was one of CBIA’s highest priorities this legislative session and the veto prevented hundreds of thousands of dollars in fees from builders and future homebuyers.
